Kind Words about Delightful3: A Pop-Up Gallery

Camille LeFevre for City Pages:
"Local artists and charmers Jennifer Davis and Amy Rice continue their ongoing series of "Delightful" engagements with a pop-up gallery this weekend in downtown St. Paul. (The first "Delightful" was an exhibition at Rosalux in 2006; the second was a collection of collaborative works displayed at the Youngblood Gallery in Atlanta.) For four days, the duo will present their third collaboration: various works on wood and paper, framed and unframed, and in sizes small, medium, and large for our delectation. Note the works in which their influence on each other is evident. Nostalgia and mystery, innocence and dark impulses, found objects and images wistfully re-contexualized, the whimsical and the profound—they're all present in Davis's and Rice's work in original ways that convey reinvention. There will be a public reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, September 16.
